Erin Robinson’s excellent Puzzle Bots was chosen as one of the PAX 10 winners for this weekend’s Seattle convention, and as a result, Wadjet Eye games has it on sale all weekend long. By entering the code “PUZZLEPAX” at checkout, you can play the cheerful little strategy puzzle title for $4.99 instead of the usual $10.

There’s a free demo available if you want to try before you buy and the game will also be playable on the PAX show floor — so if you have a friend in Seattle, ask them what they think. An excellent deal on an excellent indie title, even for those of us who aren’t partying with Tycho and Gabe this weekend.

It’s not guaranteed to make you any smarter, but having such an intelligent little bird upside your ear may at least give you a minor boost in confidence. A full 1.5 years after the original Q1 made its debut, BlueAnt is introducing its Q2 Smart Bluetooth Headset. Aside from being able to cancel out noise while traveling at up to 22mph (read: Usain Bolt’s average walking speed), the Q2 also touts a fully integrated text-to-speech feature that belts out news, weather, sports and the latest gossip from Microsoft’s Bing 411. And if you just so happen to use a smartphone with Android 2.0 or newer, it’ll actually read your text messages and emails aloud without you having to fish your handset out of your britches. It’s available now at AT&T stores for $129, and just in case you’re wondering, you can freak mall walkers out for five solid hours without needing a recharge. Not that we’d encourage such behavior.

Destination Arcade

Major Nelson updated his post announcing the one week delay of Destination Arcade with the following message: “I have learned that the Destination Arcade app will only be available for the duration of the Summer of Arcade promotion which ends August 18th.”

Look, we’re going to come right out and say it: We have no idea what’s going on in Redmond. First, they redesign the entire Dashboard to fix UI problems … only many of those same UI problems still exist (try finding the latest XBLA release any given week in three clicks or less). Next, they announce “Destination Arcade,” a “brand new recommendation engine & visual browser app” that promised to deliver a more powerful, dedicated XBLA browsing interface. And now, as communicated by Major Nelson’s update, Microsoft only plans to deliver that application for one month.

We’ve asked the good Major to clarify if the application will simply not be available for download following the 18th or if it will cease functioning as a service entirely after that date. We’re not sure we understand either scenario.

[Thanks, Johnathan]

Next week, many high-profile Xbox Live Arcade games are having their prices slash, slash, slashed! Starting Monday, June 14, some XBLA favorites are half off, including: Shadow Complex, Trials HD, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Splosion Man.

There will also be an “inventory blowout” in celebration of E3 from June 16-22, which includes a slew of titles at 30-50 percent off. Find the full list of titles and their discounted pricing after the break. Also, don’t try to wrap your brain around an “inventory blowout” on virtual goods — a former Joystiq writer tried to solve that mystery and now we send flowers to his room at the asylum every week.

HP isn’t being shy about spending cash and taking big steps to reinvent itself lately: it just spent $1.2b on Palm in order to strengthen its consumer device portfolio, and now it’s announcing another billion-dollar outlay designed to streamline its enterprise services business and fully consolidate its $12.5b acquisition of EDS. Part of the process will involve laying off some 9,000 workers over several years as HP moves to automate more and more of its data centers and integrate more of EDS, but the company is planning to add some 6,000 jobs in different areas over the same period of time, so the hurt isn’t too bad. Taken together with the Palm acquisition, this means that both HP’s enterprise and consumer divisions will undergo some radical changes in the next few months — we’ll see how things pan out.

Select guests at The Berkeley in London will gain an extra amenity in addition to their already posh quarters — an iPad.

When the iPad comes out in the UK later this month, the hotel will offer the iPad to its guests staying in certain suites during their stay. The iPad will include a variety of games, videos and comics for children as well as several newspapers, ranging from Le Monde to the Wall Street Journal. There will also be suggestions for places to visit, utilizing the iPad’s capabilities to help plan an itinerary.

Of course, it’s far cheaper to actually buy your own iPad than to stay at this particular hotel in order to use one for free. The suites that qualify for this particular extra start at £1,850 per night plus VAT, which is more than $2800USD (as of this writing)!
